With the destruction of Dizsoft, General Galaxy is now the largest (in terms of market cap) and most powerful megacorporation in the Known Sphere. Like all megacorps, General Galaxy aggressively pursues opportunities wherever it sees them, and has a strong presence in many industries. However, it is the undisputed market leader in space colonization, mineral/energy extraction, spacecraft manufacture, grain production, and mass transportation.

General Galaxy is also known for its particularly ruthless (some would say unlawful) business practices. On top of the usual predatory pricing, corporate espionage, heavy use of spin, and very aggressive marketing, it was the first to use the so-called "General Galaxy-approach" of attempting to establish a monopoly or otherwise market-leading position in one field, and leveraging that position to establish a monopoly or otherwise market-leading position in a related field, then another, and so on.

Charles Millhous Elliot, the brilliant Wall Street raider and maverick and the current CEO's namesake, founded the company that would become General Galaxy, making it one of the oldest megacorps. Taking advantage of his vast political connections and the orgy of deregulation during the late 20th century, Elliot quickly seized control of three of the American Hegemony's largest companies between 1982 and 1984 using leveraged buyouts. He then named this new corporate titan Pan Earth Enterprises.

General Galaxy is headquartered on Ozymandias, their primary distribution center at the time of General Yale's coup. At the center of General Galaxy City, the General Galaxy Arcology, widely considered one of the modern wonders of the Known Sphere, is a gigantic pyramid 700 stories tall, with a flat top that is exactly one kilometer by one kilometer, that houses the megacorp's headquarters. Inside the Arcology are offices, labs, and living quarters for over 1 million employees. Another 50 million people live and work in the surrounding metroplex.
