1970: Project Ark, the United Earth Space Colonization Program, begins. The first wave of sleeper colony ships is launched.

2150: The Known Sphere is in ruins. After an apocalyptic 20-year war, a third of humanity is dead. The three superpowers have lost or abandoned half their territory. In the vacuum, hundreds of worlds are now ruled by gun and Mobile Armor.
