Terran Military Order

The Terran Military Order is, unsurprisingly, a military dictatorship, formed after Major General Allen Yale's successful coup d'etat toppled Terra's civilian government. The Order is ruled by the Terran Command Council, whose members are the leaders of the various political factions of the Federal Forces. Its ruling mandate comes from delivering continued economic prosperity and by promising to crush the terrorism that constantly plagues this star empire, which, also unsurprisingly, is the direct product of Terran despotic imperialism.

Republic of Akasha

The Republic is a liberal democracy, whose basic tenets revolve around social liberalism, economic conservativism, and civil libertarianism. The core beliefs of most Akashans include an unwavering commitment to civil liberties, and strong preferences for small but strong government, low taxes, government oversight to protect the free market, free trade, and the selective use of government power to maximize utility (e.g., national defense, education, infrastructure).

Federation of Corvia

The Federation espouses economic libertarianism, also known as laissez-faire capitalism. As a result, it has turned into a dystopian Hobbesian nightmare. While a democracy in name, the lack of government oversight has allowed special interests to take and maintain control, creating a permanent caste of extremely wealthy individuals. True power now lies with this small, elitist group at the top of the income scale known as the Aristocrats. At the pinnacle of Corvian economic and political supremacy is a handful of ultra-powerful families, known as the Great Houses, who are, in most circumstances, above the law.
