Name: | Gideon Kane | |
Age: | Unknown (27- Apparent)
Height: | 185 cm | |
Mass: | 79 kg | |
Weapon of Choice: | Chen Tech 9mm Wuxia-5000
Notes: |
Gideon Kane was born into the %?$^£8˜?@ < <Runtime Error. Data lost > >. In only a short period of time, he has been recognized as a rapidly up and coming bounty hunter because of his superb fighting skills, legendary toughness and bad attitude.
Kane is tall, with a lean, wiry yet muscular build. Generally, he keeps his hair short, except for a small ponytail. In his demeanor and his reflexes, Kane is catlike, very independent and often stubborn and naturally moving with fluidity and grace. He is darkly handsome, and can be very charming when the mood suits him, although he prefers to be an outsider. He views people critically, and it is hard to earn his trust, but, once given, Kane is a rock solid friend.
Kane is cool and easygoing. He is also impetuous, and a smart ass. This bounty hunter is soft-spoken, and speaks only when necessary and with as few words as possible, although he also likes to drop a zinger occasionally. He is utterly fearless and loves a challenge, and he lives by his own self-defined sense of justice.
Kane has amnesia and is unable to remember his past. He does have disturbing nightmares about death and blood, but is unable to recall any details upon waking. |

Name: | Antoine Mills | |
Age: | 36 | |
Height: | 188 cm | |
Mass: | 97 kg | |
Weapon of Choice: | Red Star M261 Minigun
Notes: |
With a tall, muscular body, shiny bald head, dark skin, and deep set, piercing eyes, Antoine Mills has a commanding presence. He is also a natural leader. He looks terrifying while glaring, but comforting when he smiles.
Although a hellion in his youth who often skirted the edge of the law, Mills' experiences have made him a calm, thoughtful person. When he works with others, he usually ends up making arrangements and doing a large part of the investigative work.
A veteran of the Terran Federal Forces, serving four years as a member of the 4th Marine Force Recon Regiment, Mills was a courageous and highly decorated soldier, both as a Heavy Weapons Specialist and a Squad Leader.
After his honorable discharge, Staff Sergeant Mills joined the police department on his native New Detroit and spent six years in the NDPD, working his way up to Detective in the Robbery Homicide Division. Mills still has the old school police mentality of always trying to bring in a suspect alive. Detective Sergeant Mills left the force under unclear but cloudy circumstances, and began working as a bounty hunter shortly afterward.
With his experience, tactical knowledge, and a powerful presence, most people tend to defer to Mills. However, most of the individuals that he works with are not prone to teamwork (including his partner, Gideon Kane), and Mills often ends up feeling like he wants to tear out his non-existent hair. |

Name: | Montana Maxwell | |
Age: | 29 | |
Height: | 185 cm | |
Mass: | 100 kg | |
Weapon of Choice: | General Galaxy Roomsweeper 12-gauge pump action shotgun
Notes: |
Montana Maxwell leads two lives. In one life, he is a shy, mild-mannered high school history teacher who drives a beaten up Econo Kart that he has to coax to life each morning. In the other, he is a daring (at least in his mind), swashbuckling treasure hunter who's a hit with all the ladies (at least in his mind).
Maxwell is a tall, tanned, barrel-chested man with a prominent chin. Often on his adventures, he is in desperate need of a shave.
His treasure hunting career began after Montana's sister, Dakota, was diagnosed with a rare and potentially terminal disease shortly after losing her health insurance when she was downsized by her Megacorp. To raise the money to save his sister's life, Montana went after the Eyes of Dagon, the legendary jewels that he vaguely remembered writing about during college.
After recovering the Eyes of Dagon, Maxwell returned to Sunnyvale High School to find that the town had voted in favor of Proposition 2½, capping the amount that property taxes could be increased in any given year. As a result, civic services were drastically cut back, and Maxwell lost his chance to get tenure. Now, he needs to keep treasure hunting to pay his rent. |

Name: | Rossag the Ruthless
Age: | Unknown (28- Apparent)
Height: | 195 cm | |
Mass: | 107 kg | |
Weapon of Choice: | Broadsword
Notes: |
Rossag was born on the savage world of Valeria in a barbarian tribe. His mother died giving birth to him. Rossag was five years old when his father was murdered, and he was sent to live with relatives in Basdone, one of the Seven Cities of the Sacred Sea. Although he was a wild, unruly, sometimes feral child, he also proved to be quite intelligent and a voracious reader.
At twelve, Rossag ran away back to his barbarian tribe. After proving his worth as a warrior, many times over, he left his tribe to wander his native planet for four years. Leaving Valeria with merchant traders, he was promptly enslaved by Corvian privateers, and spent the next two years in bondage. After slaying his masters, Rossag struck out on his own, and in the years since, has become increasingly well-known as an adventurer and brigand.
The barbarian has long dirty blonde hair that hangs about his head like a lion's mane. He is tall and powerfully built, and his muscles often seem to threaten to burst the seams of his clothes. Most people assume Rossag to be as mentally sharp as a bowling ball. However, his appearance belies his intelligence, and such an assumption has cost more than one enemy his life.
Rossag is peerless with a sword, and a master with many other weapons, modern and archaic. Additionally, he has a fearsome will (once he sets his mind to something, very little short of death will stop him), and a very strict code of honor. |

Name: | Shu Li Ming | |
Age: | 21 | |
Height: | 166 cm | |
Mass: | 60 kg | |
Weapon of Choice: | .44 Magnum
Notes: |
Shu Li Ming is the daughter of late billionaire/inventor Shu Mu Bai. She was traveling with her family on their space yacht when it was attacked by the infamous raider group, the Bad News Boys. The Bad News Boys killed the 13 year-old Shu's entire family in front of her eyes, and then enslaved her for two days before leaving her for dead. A bounty hunter named Antoine Mills rescued her from the afterlife just before the space yacht exploded.
Using her family's immense wealth, Shu spent the next four years training her body and mind to become one of the deadliest warriors in the Known Sphere. She has been content to leave the day-to-day operation of the family business to her uncle, and he has been content to fund her missions and let her do whatever she wants, hoping that Li Ming will die on one of her missions so that he can inherit Shu Enterprises, Ltd. Realizing that she lacked real world experience, she caught up with Mills just after his last partner had been killed on a job. Shu convinced Mills to take her on and show her the ropes. They later went their separate ways after Mills found her methodology to be too brutal and extreme.
Shu is a striking young woman with a lean, muscular, finely toned physique. She begins each morning with 2000 crunches followed by 1000 push ups, and, if possible, a 10K run. In addition to weapon experts, engineers, and other assorted persons, Shu's traveling coterie always includes top professors from the best universities of the Known Sphere, and she has earned "home school" doctorates in Psychology, Criminology, Computer Science, and Physics.
Although nominally a bounty hunter, many of Shu's bounties die before they are turned over to the authorities, particularly if they have committed violence against women or children. Shu recently completed an epic, three-year quest for vengeance, crisscrossing the Known Sphere to hunt down and kill every member of the Bad News Boys. Then she killed the person who marked her family for death. |

Name: | Joseph Thayendanegea IV
Age: | 29 | |
Height: | 179 cm | |
Mass: | 88 kg | |
Weapon of Choice: | Chen Tech .50 cal Dead-Eye bolt-action rifle
Notes: |
Joseph Thayendanegea IV is the son of Sir Dale Thayendanegea, Knight Defender of Corvia and the 196th Chief of the Red Eagle Band of the Akwesasne Mohawk Nation. He is a tall, dark, often grim-looking man with weathered bronze skin, a hawk nose, full mustache and close-cropped beard, and the traditional Mohawk hair style of a shaven head except for a narrow strip of jet black hair down the middle of the scalp. Although eloquent and well-spoken, Thayendanegea is usually solemn and silent.
Being the only child of Chief Thayendanegea, much was expected of the younger Thayendanegea. However, he grew tired of living up to such lofty standards and instead became a troublemaker and drug abuser. On his 18th birthday, Thayendanegea instigated a bar brawl, during which his best friend was killed. To save his son from a potential death sentence, the Chief worked out a deal with the District Attorney (who was also the local CSDF recruiter), where his son would enlist in exchange for dropping the charges.
During his service with the CSDF, Thayendanegea excelled in the Corvian 6th Special Air Service Regiment as a scout and sniper, becoming one of the foremost outdoorsmen and pathfinders in the Known Sphere. Awarded the Order of the Golden Lion after the Battle of Baden's Bluff where, during a fierce blizzard, he guided the badly mauled 2nd Division of the Corvian First Corps to safety despite being surrounded by four enemy divisions. For his skill and bravery, he was also made a member of Lady General Niocene T'leko's Household Guard.
After the Second Unification War, Thayendanegea returned home to find his Band nearly annihilated by unknown assailants. The 197th Chief of the Red Eagle Band has journeyed to Wild Space to find and rescue the surviving members of his Band, and to bring his father's murderers to justice. |

Name: | Ellen Hickok | |
Age: | 30 | |
Height: | 182 cm | |
Mass: | 68 kg | |
Weapon of Choice: | Army Service .45 cal Peacekeeper
Notes: |
Ellen Hickok is the last remaining Republic Marshal in Wild Space, a position which she has both been groomed for and has aspired to from birth. On the day she received her Gold Star from District Marshal Alejandro Ortiz, the Republic Marshal Service recalled all Marshals to the Core.
Marshal Hickok is a tall, athletically-built woman. She has calm eyes that reflect a wisdom and sadness beyond their years. With short brown hair and eyes, Hickok has a beauty reminiscent of the spare aesthetic of a Japanese brush painting.
As a visible member of an order that has abandoned its post, the young Marshal is an outcast, hated and feared by the people she has sworn to protect. Despite this, Hickok does her best to embody the ideals of the Republic Marshals, and to restore the former honor of the Service.
Hickok usually carries a brace of Army Service .45 cal Double Action revolvers, nicknamed the "Peacekeeper." Although the Army of Akasha has switched over to the Sterling Hi-Power, the Army .45 cal Double Action was its first service pistol. After resigning her commission as Major General, Joyce Chung, the first Director of the Republic Marshal Service, selected the Peacekeeper as the standard sidearm for the new agency because of its rugged construction, reliability, accuracy and stopping power. The design of the Army .45 cal Double Action is based on the old U.S. Army .45 cal Single Action (nicknamed the "Peacemaker"). The Peacekeeper's most notable differences from its illustrious predecessor are its double action and its ability to accept speedloaders.
Marshal Hickok has remained behind in Wild Space in part to discover why her father, legendary District Marshal James Hickok, was suddenly stricken by madness, going berserk and killing a dozen people, including District Marshal Ortiz, before finally being sent to the Boatman by his daughter. She has also stayed to fulfill a blood oath to finish serving all of Ortiz's outstanding warrants. |

Name: | Javier Basquiat | |
Age: | 38 | |
Height: | 184 cm | |
Mass: | 86 kg | |
Weapon of Choice: | Derringer
Notes: |
Javier Basquiat is a man on the run from his past. Once one of Hollywood's brightest stars, he is often considered the greatest actor of his generation, winning his first Oscar at 21 for portraying a terminally ill patient in "The Long Goodbye." During a noted string of blockbusters, he was also the most bankable actor in town.
Basquiat is ruggedly handsome, with dashing looks and a built physique that make women swoon, and has a magnetic personality. Once a foremost bad boy, his deep, brooding eyes and roguish grin were featured on the cover of many, many tabloids for over a decade. However, he looks slightly different in person than he does on film, and people who meet him on the street often assume that he's a Basquiat impersonator. In addition, Basquiat was noted for his use of the Stanislavski System, and he is easily able to submerge himself into a role.
A man of fierce passions while an A-List actor, Basquiat always did things his way, regardless of the cost to himself or others. Highly temperamental, he developed a reputation of being very difficult to work with. He was eventually blacklisted after he offended too many people and no one was willing to work with him anymore.
With expensive tastes in women, cars, clothing, and many other things, Basquiat's situation took a logical turn for the worse. After being chased out of the Old States into Wild Space by his creditors, Basquiat now uses his theatrical and disguise skills (he was noted for doing his own makeup on several films) as one of the best confidence artists in the galaxy. He is also a formidable poker player, and has been spotted at all the biggest casinos in the Known Sphere.

Name: | Kristen Ceres | |
Age: | 20 | |
Height: | 164 cm | |
Mass: | 57 kg | |
Weapon of Choice: | Red Star Pz-51 Predator
Notes: |
Despite, or perhaps because of her youth, Captain Kristen Ceres is one of the best and most audacious smugglers in the galaxy. Tough, fiery, cunning, and resourceful, Ceres has completed missions that terrified away veteran spacers. No job is too big or small, if the price is right.
After her parents allegedly died in a car crash when she was 8, Kristen Ceres grew up shuttling back and forth between orphanages and foster homes. However, she never believed that her mom and dad were dead. By the time she was 16, the future captain had had enough, and ran away to look for her parents with only a handful of cryptic clues.
After 2 harrowing years, Ceres finally caught up with them on the frontier. They were hiding with her uncle, Black Bart, a relative whose existence she hadn't known of previously, in his orbital courier, but the reunion was shortlived. The next day, before she could get answers to any of her questions, she woke up to find that her parents had mysteriously disappeared once more, again leaving only some small hints to their story.
Blackmailing the previous owner, she got control of a barely operational Horizon-class Scout Trader, which she renamed the Future Reunion. With her crusty uncle as First Mate and several of his old Navy buddies to fill out the crew, Captain Ceres immediately started taking jobs to pay for the Reunion's refit and to further investigate her parents' whereabouts and true background. She is determined that nothing in the galaxy will stop her.

Name: | Joe Daring | |
Age: | 32 | |
Height: | 187 cm | |
Mass: | 83 kg | |
Weapon of Choice: | .357 Magnum
Notes: |
Joe Daring is used to life in the fast lane, literally. Like his legendary father, Giuseppe, he is a championship car racer. As such, he has lightning reflexes, and aggressiveness bordering on, and sometimes crossing over into, reckless abandon. Growing up in the enormous shadow of his cold, distant father had a profound effect on the younger Daring, prompting him to keep pushing himself and his car further and further to the very limit. Indeed, Daring was banned for life from professional racing after his ferocious style caused the deaths of other drivers in three consecutive races.
Personally devastated, the once great champion drowned himself in alcohol and piled up massive debts. Never one to pass up an opportunity, Yakuza oyabun Yamaguchi Oda bought out Daring's liabilities, "encouraged" him to dry out, and hired him as a courier. The Jiang Hu had never seen anything like Daring before; with even a halfway decent car, he was untouchable. Unsurprisingly, Daring immediately established himself as the best driver on the underworld circuit, and it didn't take long for him to pay off his debts.
Presently, Daring is a free agent, taking jobs because he loves and needs to drive hard and fast. He's also returned to racing, albeit of an illegal variety. As always, the ghost of his father lurks in the background.
